LEGISLATIVE NEWS:  As of May 1, 2008, all mercury-added products (including fluorescent lamps, some neon lighting, mercury vapor, metal halide, high pressure sodium, and short-arc mercury types) may not be disposed of in the trash.  Improper disposal may result in fines as much as $25,000. per violation per day, by Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.  Information on lamp recycling is available at www.lamprecycle.org and www.mass.gov/dep/
